That's a Wrap

We are in full "getting ready for baby" mode around here.  We are slowly making progress on his room.  That has meant moving everything that was in the room to other locations in the house.  We have tried to put as much of it in the guest room as possible.  However, there isn't room for it all.  So I have had to put my nesting instincts to good use to find some solutions.  My biggest challenges have been where to put my sewing and gift wrapping supplies.  My gift wrapping supplies had been in a corner of the room.  The bags and tissue were in a basket, overflowing.  The wrapping paper was leaning in the corner.

Well, this morning I woke up and had some inspiration!  Our laundry room came with pegboard already installed.  The room is off the garage and even has a built in table.  After a little bit of reorganizing, I had a workable space for a gift wrapping area.

I had to buy some pegboard hooks, a wire basket, and some tension rods. I already had a metal rack that I used to hold the gift bags.  Here is the end result!

The next step is to add a few smaller baskets to hold some other gift wrapping supplies and even a place to hold gifts before they are wrapped!

I wish I could put my sewing stuff out here too, but the room is not heated or cooled, so I don't think I would get much done.  (Plus, I would be too far from the baby.)  So the sewing delima continues.  We are going to Ikea in 2 weeks....there are all kinds of things we could find there!

Have you organized anything lately?

  1. We've had to organize most of our house lately to show it to potential renters and b/c we have visitors coming. I guess when we move, we'll be reorganizing and purging a lot of stuff. ; )
